A Look Back and Ahead: Justice Tech in 2025

by | Jan 13, 2025 | News

As we welcome 2025, we hope the past year has brought growth, collaboration, and progress for you and your organization. For the Justice Tech Association (JTA), 2024 has been an incredible journey of innovation and impact. Together, we’ve strengthened our community, expanded opportunities for justice tech startups, and advanced the mission of creating equitable access to justice through technology.

Justice tech plays a vital role in addressing systemic barriers, ensuring fairness, and empowering individuals, organizations, and communities. In a world where over 5 Billion people lack the access to the legal services they need, the need for scalable, tech-driven solutions is more pressing than ever. Through collective action, we’ve built momentum to close the justice gap and create a more equitable legal system.

Below, we’ve outlined some of the key achievements from 2024, all made possible with your support. Each initiative reflects our commitment to advancing the field of justice tech and uplifting our members in meaningful ways.

A Year of Impact: JTA’s 2024 Highlights

Stories Behind the Numbers

Each of these achievements represents not just a milestone for JTA, but also a story of impact. For example, through the Justice Tech Accelerator, startups like Advocord, descbrybe.ai, Open Pro Bono, Redo.io, Thurgood, and We Decide gained access to mentorship and funding that helped them scale their solutions to reach underserved communities. Similarly, our nationwide Legal Aid Listening Sessions opened new doors for partnerships, with several legal aid organizations now exploring collaborations with justice tech innovators.

This progress underscores the power of collective action and the importance of creating spaces where diverse stakeholders—founders, investors, advocates, and policymakers—can come together to drive change. JTA is at the forefront of building this ecosystem.

Looking Ahead to 2025

The year ahead promises to be even more impactful for the justice tech community. As the demand for scalable, innovative solutions continues to grow, JTA remains committed to providing the resources, connections, and advocacy our members need to succeed.

Closing with Gratitude

As we reflect on the progress made in 2024 and look toward 2025, we’re filled with gratitude for our team, members, partners, and supporters who make this work possible. Justice tech is not just about technology—it’s about people. It’s about the innovators creating solutions, the communities they serve, and the advocates fighting to make justice accessible for everyone. Most importantly, it’s about the individuals that should be able to exercise their rights on a level playing field.

Here’s to a year of innovation, collaboration, and progress!
